Our Competition Complaints

The European Publishers Council has filled two important antitrust complaints with the European Commission against Google LLC and Alphabet Inc. for abuse of their dominant position.

Find more details for each case below.

1

A formal complaint to the European Commission alleging that Google LLC and Alphabet Inc. are abusing their dominant position in general search, in breach of Article 102 TFEU, through the deployment of AI Overviews and AI Mode in Google Search.

2

An antitrust complaint against Google with the European Commission in a bid to break the ad tech stranglehold Google currently has over press publishers, and all other businesses in the ad tech ecosystem. Specifically, the EPC calls on the European Commission to hold Google accountable for its anticompetitive conduct and impose remedies to restore conditions of effective competition in the ad tech value chain.
